Random Thoughts

To the 14 year old girls hanging at the mall who loudly whispered as I walked by OMG is she carrying like sextuplets? Followed by maniacal giggles: You shouldn't make fun of people who you'll likely resemble one day such as the pregnant, and the elderly. I will not wish anything seriously bad upon you, but like Sophia in the Golden Girls I put upon you a curse: when the time comes may you grow large as a house, waddle like a penguin with cankles with stretchmarks coating your currently taut bellies!

Looks like Sunflower is holding strong until at least the shower despite a contraction that felt like an earthquake in the middle of Bath and Body Works. I swear sometimes I get this sensation like he's just going to fall out. There are about 19 people including me attending. I'm ignoring the pics on facebook of other showers with 45+ people. Its quality not quantity and I'm grateful to the people choosing to attend. Thanks to those of you who said its okay to feel nervous. Once I'm there, I'm sure the nerves will die down. I love hosting things for other people, but I have a really hard time being hosted.

  2. 19 sounds like a lot to me. At least you have friends who want to throw you a shower.
    Hope you have fun!

  3. Teenagehood is in itself one of the most idiotic phases of life, I would not go back to that for anything in the world, and I had mild teens... But sadly most teenagers are morons, speak with their feet in their mouths (remarkable feat in itself, seeing that it is constant), are supremely selfish and most of the times useless. Try to ignore stupid words from stupid girls. And take comfort in remembering that stupid words almost always come back to haunt the one who said them. ;-)

    Enjoy your shower!

  5. Nice Sophia curse! Hoping Sunflower holds off until after the shower, and glad you're having a shower - I agree - 19 people? Wowza. I don't think I know 19 people (certainly not 19 women) to invite (one more reason why I can't imagine that I'll have a shower!) I hope you have a wonderful time and let yourself simply bask in 'being hosted'. You know we're all going to want to see lots of photos!

  6. It IS quality, not quantity. I had 40+ people at my shower and now I have to actually sit down with my unpleasant mother-in-law and get not just addresses, but NAMES of the 20 people that I don't know from a hole in the wall, so I can write thank-yous.

  8. They are sticks and think anything larger than a stick is HUGE.

19 people is a lot, in my book. Mine was much smaller and that was perfectly fine with me.
