Spotting, I HATE YOU

I was preparing an egg sandwich and suddenly felt my uterus contract and then I checked and I had brown spotting. Fuck. The nurse said to stay off my feet, drink liquids and talk to my MFM doctor at tomorrow's visit. So far no more pain. Spotting is status quo, light and not much.

My hands are shaking. I'm so tired guys. I'm so tired of the constant fear.

  1. Oh no...honey, that sucks! I hope it's something normal and that everything is okay. It's good you have your appointment tomorrow to see your little boy. I'm sure he'll be lounging away, smiling and waving at you. Take it easy, get lots of rest and let Jack pamper you today.

  2. You poor thing. I get that when it rains it pours, but it is high time you caught a break! I hope this is just another 'nothing.' And that you are hanging in there and finding ways to enjoy the downtime. Or at least relax a little, knowing that things seem 'status quo.' I'll be thinking about you tomorrow!

  5. I hope it's nothing! Like just a slightly irritated cervix or something.
I understand the fear very well though, having lived with it daily from 16w2d until about 26 weeks, when I knew the tightenings I kept getting hadn't had any effect on my cervix. After 28 weeks, I'm feeling way way better and more relaxed.
I hope you'll get a nice reassuring ultrasound and MFM visit tomorrow. Aside from taking it easy and making sure you've got no other signs of preterm labour, there's not too much you can do. There's the usual junk about lying on your left side, drinking lots of water to stay hydrated. And if your hospital's like mine and you get really freaked out, you're past 20 weeks so you could go to L&D to be assessed. I'm sure you'll be ok till your visits tomorrow (and will waste way less of your time just going to them as scheduled).
Brown is usually still ok, remember. Bright red a little more of a worry.
    I'll be thinking of you!

  6. Spotting is the worst. If it makes you feel any better I bled throughout the first 16 weeks of my pregnancy and spotted through about 22 weeks. I know it's scary, but brown is much more reassuring. Thinking of you, praying for you and hoping this was just a one-off thing. ((hugs))

  7. Oh K, I'm so sorry to hear this! Like others, I'm sure it's nothing serious, just one of those things that happens during pregnancy. But even so, it's scary to go through! I'm glad you have the MFM appt tomorrow so you can get some reassurance. Thinking of you.

  8. I'm sorry it has to be so freakin' hard! I so wish you could just have a textbook pregnancy without all the constant worry. Keeping my fingers crossed it's nothing, and that the rest of the pregnancy goes off without a hitch.

  9. F**K. That really sucks. I had patchy spotting here and there so I hope that it is nothing and I am looking for your update.

I hear you about being tired of being afraid - at one point, I thought I needed to get professional help I was so anxiety filled all the time.
